Description:The Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) team is seeking a Software and Systems Architect who will provide technical leadership on cutting edge Artificial Intelligence development programs supporting the AI Integration portfolio. The team is focused on exploiting small, innovative, and agile teams to rapidly iterate and mature solutions from prototypes to deployment for utilization across the Lockheed Martin enterprise, as well as in the field for our customers. The selected candidate will act as the lead architect and product owner for the Cognitive Baseline product line focused on the integration and transition of AI algorithms and approaches across various mission areas and applications. The selected candidate will provide technical direction for research, design, and implementation of solutions across the full development timeline from basic research through deployment in relevant environments. The selected candidate’s responsibilities will include:
• Collaborating across LM business areas facilitating the integration of AI solutions for various missions and applications.
• Lead the research, implementation, and development of cutting edge AI/ML models and algorithms across different tech domains. Experience with AI backends such as Torch, Scikit, Tensorflow, Keras, et al, and high degree of experience with AI and Data Science languages and development tools, is a requirement.
• Define and communicate technical direction for research, design, and implementation of AI capabilities that will support numerous mission domains, including joint all domain and command and control scenarios.
• Leading LM Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) briefs to internal and external customers for assigned programs
• Understanding, identifying, and communicating customer needs and capability gaps
• Facilitating efforts to roadmap future capability needs
• Leading external partnership collaboration initiatives and execution The selected candidate can work at any major Lockheed Martin facility or remotely. Must be a US Citizen.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or in a related discipline from an accredited college – or equivalent experience, with 10 years of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree
• 15+ years of experience with system software engineering
• 5+ years of experience building and deploying AI-first systems
• 5+ years of AI/ML development and data curation and data pipelines.
• Experience building and deploying software for mission systems
• 5+ years of experience with systems of systems in the DoD domain
• 15+ years of experience with compiled, interpreted, and scripted languages
• 15+ years of experience with service-oriented software
• Knowledge of system architecture and design through modelling
• Experience working with and leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams
• Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
• Experience with service to service communication stacks (pub-sub, RPC, etc)
• Must be a US Citizen
Desired Skills:
• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline
• Experience with defense industry operations analysis, multi-domain simulation, or related systems of systems analyses
• Experience with multiple SW architectures, including monolithic, SOA, and microservices
• Experience transitioning prototype technologies to production
• Experience with DevOps tools: Docker, Git [GitLab, GitHub], Continuous Integration [CI], Continuous Deployment [CD]
• Experience with SW orchestration (Kubernetes) and distributed systems.
• Experience with HW acceleration (GPUs, NPUs, etc)
• Experience with high-performance computing
• Experience developing applications on Linux
• Exhibit self-motivation, time management and interpersonal skills
